2021 Annual Conference

The Alliance held its 2021 Annual Conference virtually on November 4th and in- person on November 9-10. After a year apart, we were thrilled to welcome 245 attendees including Alliance members, supporters, stakeholders, and U.S government officials. We were also thrilled to welcome host employers and international partners for the first time.

Senator Cory Booker kicked off the conference with a strong and uplifting affirmation of the critical role international exchange programs play in increasing mutual understanding and well-being. The in-person event featured remarks from keynote speaker Acting Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) Matthew Lussenhop, with a presentation of the MODE Framework by Natalie Donahue, the ECA’s Chief of Evaluation.

Other conference highlights included: breakout sessions with ECA program staff; plenary panel on maintaining the U.S. competitive edge on international exchange; discussion with ECA leadership; and content sessions on a range of topics from nonresident tax resources, virtual exchange, and more.

The Alliance extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of our sponsors, presenters, attendees, and partners in the U.S. government in ensuring a successful conference. For those looking for more information on the sessions, please see the resources below.
