2025 Strategic Priorities

Protecting
Our Programs 

As we enter an unprecedented and uncertain political moment, it’s imperative that we focus with strategy and intention on protecting our programs. While there will be opportunities to forge new connections and advance our field, we know significant challenges are ahead. 

With that firmly in mind, we will focus on protecting the strong ground on which exchanges currently sit. We will strive to protect exchange funding, exchange regulatory structure, and visa issuance. We will take whatever proactive measures we can and respond with reactive strength as immediately necessary. 

Relentlessly Seeking Common Ground 

Even though we will often be in a protective stance, we will still, every day, seek to find common ground with potential supporters in Congress and the Administration. Exchange programs are an investment in America that fit firmly within the policy interests of the new Administration. 

Many new members of Congress may have international interests and constituents who are positively impacted by exchanges every day. We will relentlessly seek to find and showcase these examples and drive new allies to our cause. The need to protect is real and it is vital. But we will also not lose our instinct to be collaborative, nor our desire to grow the size and impact of what we do and believe in. 

Deepening Our Relationships

Our strength as an organization is firmly rooted in our relationships with our members, our partners, and fellow exchange champions. We commit to serving as a constant source of reliable information and working with all our members to ensure members' voices and concerns are heard. We’ll continue to foster the important alliances and relationships we have across industries to ensure support for exchanges is being shouted from every corner possible.
