Become a Member

  • Members have access to all the advocacy opportunities, communications, events, programming, and thought leadership the Alliance has to offer. 

  • Alliance Members 

    • Embody the purpose and support the goals of the Alliance 

    • Are legally established in the United States 

    • Have in existence clearly defined programs and activities directly concerned with conducting, facilitating, and/or supporting international exchange 

    • Comply with generally accepted ethical standards for the conduct of international exchange activities 

  • Alliance membership dues are assessed annually based on the organization’s total expenses related to international exchange programs as reported on the U.S. Internal Revenue Service 990 and audited financial statements. Please review this document to review our dues policy and learn more about how dues are calculated.

Become a Supporter

  • Supporters are organizations that may not directly implement international exchange programs but play a vital role in strengthening the ecosystem that makes them possible. Their organizations provide essential services, partner with program implementers and sponsors, and contribute expertise that supports the success, sustainability, and innovation of the exchange field. Being a supporter enables organizations to stay connected to the broader community through regular communications and programming, engage in sector-wide initiatives, and help advance our shared mission.

  • Alliance Supporters:

    • Embody the purpose and support the goals of the Alliance

    • Are legally established in the United States

    • Conduct activities such as programming and advocacy that benefit from and/or promote international exchange programs

    • Provide services – such as insurance coverage, IT support, or tax preparation – to American exchange sponsors and implementers
