Senior Advisor

Lisa Heyn joined the Alliance as Senior Advisor in 2025. She worked on the Alliance staff for seven years from 2010-2017, first as Policy and Senior Policy Specialist and later as Associate Director for Government Relations.

Since 2019, Lisa has been working as an independent international exchange consultant, focusing primarily on government relations and advocacy efforts. She is experienced working with the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Department of State and excels at working with a diverse set of stakeholders to advance educational and cultural exchanges.

Lisa has a master's degree in North American Studies, Scandinavian Studies and Public Law from the University of Bonn, Germany. She spent a year as a German Language Assistant at Ripon College, Wisconsin.

Lisa is originally from Meckenheim, Germany.
