Exchange Day is a worldwide celebration of the power of international exchange.
Celebrated on the first Monday of every August, Exchange Day is an opportunity to celebrate the people and communities that make exchange programs possible.
This year, Exchange Day will be celebrated on Monday, August 3. Read on for more information on how you and your organization can get involved!
How to Celebrate
Join us in celebrating #ExchangeDay2026 by engaging your community. Exchange Day, like exchanges themselves, is a team event, and we encourage you to connect with staff and local partners to decide how your organization wants to celebrate.

Exchange Day is the perfect opportunity to share the power of exchange programs with your online network. Whether or not you're hosting an event or celebrating with your community in person, we encourage you to take to social media and celebrate with us. No matter what you decided to highlight, don't forget to use the hashtags #CelebrateExchangeDay, #ExchangesImpact, and #ExchangeDay2026!

Celebrating the power of and raising awareness for international exchange programs can take many different forms! If you are unsure where to start, we first encourage you to identify the different exchange communities in your life. Examples include:
Your team at work
Current program participants
Program alumni
Friends you've made from your own exchange or study abroad experience
Champions of exchange in your community such as elected officials, host families, and local businesses
Once you've identified a community or communities you want to engage, decide how you want to celebrate. This could include coming together for a meal to talk about exchange programs or going to a cultural event in your community; the options are endless!
However you decide to celebrate Exchange Day with your different communities, we encourage you to share your reflections on social media with the hashtags #CelebrateExchangeDay, #ExchangesImpact, and #ExchangeDay2026
