Prior to adjourning for the year, the Senate Thursday approved legislation containing a provision to cut funding for programs government-wide by one per cent. The provision was included in the FY 2006 Department of Defense appropriations legislation and will apply to the previously approved Department of State budget that includes educational and cultural exchange programs.
