Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT), one of the chief sponsors of H.R. 1504, the Youth Exchange Support Act, spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon about the importance of international exchange programs, particularly for youth. He highlighted the legislation, introduced in conjunction with Rep. Robert Andrews (D-NJ), which would ease the financial burden of hosting foreign exchange students by increasing the tax deduction for host families to $200 per month. Bishop encouraged his colleagues in the House to support and cosponsor the bill.
