Special Representative to Muslim Communities appointed at State Department

Farah Pandith has been appointed to serve as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's “special representative to Muslim communities,” the Washington Post reports. Pandith’s appointment was announced in an internal memo to State Department employees dated Tuesday, June 23. A press release on the website for the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi indicates that Pandith and her staff “will carry out Clinton's efforts to ‘engage with Muslims around the world on a people-to-people and organizational level.’”
