On June 9, the House of Representatives passed its version of the foreign assistance appropriations legislation for FY 2007 by a vote of 373-34. The House bill, H. R. 5522, would provide $21.3 billion to fund the foreign operations activities of the U.S. government. This would be an increase of $1.03 billion over the $20.27 billion appropriated in FY 2006, but would fall short of the $23.7 billion requested by the Bush Administration for FY 2007.
