Sens. Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN) introduced legislation on May 25 to increase the knowledge and expertise of Chinese language and culture in the U.S. The legislation calls for expanded academic, cultural and business outreach activities in order to develop stronger and more enduring ties between the U.S. and China.
