Stock nomination on hold with more than 100 others, NPR reports

NPR reported last week that Senators have placed “holds” on 120 executive and judicial nominees, done in most cases anonymously. A “’hold’ is an informal Senate custom that allows any lawmaker to delay action on any bill or nomination at any time for any reason.”
Included in that list of nominees on hold is Ann Stock, nominee for Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs. No movement has occurred on Stock’s nomination since her confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on February 2 and her approval by that committee on February 24.
