Pally thanks Kristof for “his belief in the power of person-to-person exchanges”

In a recent letter to the New York Times editor, Maura Pally, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the State Department, thanks Nicolas Kristof for his vision of a “Teach for the World” program:

The State Department shares his belief in the power of person-to-person exchanges and administers a number of programs with the same goal of engaging young people globally and expanding the reach of United States public diplomacy.

Pally further remarks that she “hopes that more Americans will participate in these opportunities to deepen their knowledge and cultural awareness as they promote mutual understanding.”
