Clinton Nomination Approved by Senate Committee

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee today approved the nomination of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) to be Secretary of State. The Committee voted 16 to 1 in favor of the nomination. A vote of the full Senate will take place after President-elect Barack Obama is sworn in as President on January 20 and officially submits his nominations.
