In the current political climate of continuing pressure for reductions in federal spending and unprecedented scrutiny of J-1 exchanges, our advocacy work is more important than ever and we need to actively engage Congress as much as possible. Policymakers in Washington need to be reminded that international exchange programs are not only vital to our national security and economic health but also make a difference at home. They need to hear from you, their constituents, about the value of exchanges in your comunities.
