Alliance member organizations represent the full breadth and depth of the U.S. international educational and cultural exchange community. The Alliance supports membership at three levels:

For more information on how to apply for membership, please contact the Alliance today.

Full Membership

The Alliance's full membership program is intended for international exchange organizations in the United States who want to be players in the broader exchange community as it works to shape international exchange policy, and who want regular access to comprehensive information about policy developments affecting international educational and cultural exchange. Membership dues are based on organization size.

In addition to the opportunity to support the common goals and interests of the exchange community, members receive the following benefits:

  • Participation in the Alliance’s annual Membership Meeting
  • Participation in the Alliance’s annual Advocacy Day
  • Participation in a variety of task forces created to address policy issues
  • Leadership opportunities on the Alliance’s Board of Directors
  • Access to policy makers through Alliance meetings and advocacy efforts
  • A voice in shaping the Alliance's policy and advocacy agenda through the formulation and development of its strategic goals.

Full members also receive:

  • Complete access to the Alliance's Policy Monitor—a timely, authoritative source of information on international exchange news and policy trends ranging from funding for key federal programs to developments in regulations governing exchange programs.
  • Timely Action Alerts about pending decisions on Capitol Hill, in federal agencies, or elsewhere so your organization can make its views known before decisions are made affecting your programs. Action Alerts include sample letters and contact information.
  • Weekly delivery of Federal Register listings related to international exchanges issued by the U.S. Departments of State, Education and Homeland Security, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
  • A free copy of the International Exchange Locator: A Resource Directory for Educational and Cultural Exchange (a guide to U.S. organizations, federal agencies, and congressional committees active in international exchange), and discounts on additional copies.
  • Invitations to workshops, luncheons, roundtables, and meetings.
  • The expertise of the Alliance's staff in Washington, DC, to answer questions and to access information from our extensive policy archives.
